We are concerned that if we continue to try to be everything for everybody, we will lose focus on what we are here to do and that is develop really great tools and systems. This change will allow us to do what we are best at and that is providing technical support and designing industry changing tools and systems.

Our Dealers have committed to the following points so that they are an extension of us:

•  All sales and technical personnel will complete an intensive StoneAge Tool training program at the factory.
• An Authorized Dealer will be certified by the factory before they are allowed to sell a given product, ensuring you order the correct tool for your job.
• Stock significantly more StoneAge products in their locations throughout the US and Canada.
• Our technical support team will travel with our Dealers to ensure that they are providing the same level of service StoneAge is known for.

It’s our goal that you will receive even better, more regional support from our dealers as they will have what you need, when you need it. And we will always be here to back you up in case they don’t. STONEAGE, INC.

History:

In 1979, in a dusty old garage, two young men, Jerry Zink and John Wolgamott, worked to develop an idea into a viable tool. They met while working for a Colorado university think tank and soon collaborated to design a tool worth pitching to the mining industry. Yes, the first StoneAge tool was a hand-held waterjet drill used by uranium miners to drill holes in rocks rather than blasting. Hence the name “StoneAge.” Just as they succeeded in getting the technology right, the uranium mining market collapsed, leaving them with a great waterjet tool and no one to buy it. To make ends meet they marketed their tool to civil engineers and even built houses in rock formations. As luck would have it, the WJTA was just starting to form and they presented their tool to some early water blast contractors. After some initial testing, they found that their new waterjet drill was very useful in the cleaning of pipes, tubes, and plugged heat exchangers. Other high pressure cleaning equipment using similar technology soon followed the water drill. Thus the foundation was laid for a new “water jet engineering company”.

StoneAge is now recognized as a world leader in providing tools and equipment for water blast cleaning. We specialize in mechanized equipment and rotary nozzles. We have hundreds of customers and distributors located around the world. The same two men (not young anymore) still help guide the company in the development of new and better tools. But, they are now part of a larger dynamic team that has grown to provide comprehensive engineering, manufacturing and service capabilities. StoneAge is 100% employee owned and retains 49 people on its payroll. The garage has been replaced by a modern, well-equipped facility, but the commitment to quality and practicality remains strong as ever.
